Alpacas and llamas are are highly valued by the Q'eros people for their wool, meat, and ability to serve as pack animals in the rugged terrain of the Andes Mountains. The Q'eros people have a deep respect for these animals and have developed a close relationship with them over centuries of living in the high Andes.
